Smyser Kaplan & Veselka, LLP is a is a Houston law firm that represents plaintiffs and defendants in multimillion dollar lawsuits, including class actions. The firm was formed by 3 partners and I was contracted to design their logo and collateral material including a letterhead package and building signage. In the design brief, the concept was to create a classic design that communicated strength and integrity. The typeface used in the design was Trajan, an old style serif typeface based on the letterforms used for the inscription at the base of Trajan’s Column.
The logo design evolved over the years, with a redesign created that worked better on the web, as digital media became their primary marketing tool. The new logotype joined the SKV initials with the names listed underneath.
