Houston Advanced Research Center

HARC is a non-partisan, non-profit research organization dedicated to moving knowledge to action to improve human well-being and protect the environment.
I worked with former president and CEO Todd Mitchell on this project, the redesign of their logo, the design of a brochure, and consulted on the redesign of their website.
The concept for the logo was to keep the same acronym but create a new context for it that represented HARC as a bridging link between the producers of knowledge (in research and science communities) to users of knowledge (in policymaking and technology adopting communities). The contemporary typeface used is FF Meta, a humanist sans-serif designed by Erik Spiekermann.
The studio also designed a brochure that described HARC, its mission and programs. HARC’s research programs support sustainability solutions in six areas: ecosystems, water, air & climate, clean energy, the built environment, and environmental health. Individual logos were created for each of these programs in 2 formats, black & white for the brochure and color for the website. Images link to pdfs for download.
