BROWN & KORNEGAY, LLP

BKLLP is a is a Houston law firm representing plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters that was formed in 2008. They contacted me to design a brand for their company, including a web site and letterhead package to help position them in their target market. They were interested in a classic style to portray their firm and various typefaces were explored, with Aldus, a typeface designed by Hermann Zapf ultimately selected. It is named for Aldus Manutius, the famous fifteenth century Venetian printer. This font gives text the feeling of elegance which was typical of the Renaissance. In keeping with their desire for a traditional look, engraving was used for the letterhead, with the cards, letterheads and envelopes printed in offset.
